Mobile Witch Remote Control is a software utility that utilizes Bluetooth technology to enable your mobile phone to be used as a remote control for your Desktop.
Features: Mobile Witch Remote Control is a software utility that turns your mobile phone into a remote control by utilizing a Bluetooth connection between your computer and the mobile phone. Once the connection is established it can either be used in cursor mode, where the cursor can be controlled by the left / right / up / down keys or the joystick of the mobile phone, OR in application mode to control a handful of Windows applications including: Windows Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, Winamp, Microsoft PowerPoint, etc. There are certain customization options for applications using Key-maps, VBScript or JavaScript.
Overall: The keyword here is Bluetooth. This is a fairly decent tool but note that it requires Bluetooth at both ends – the PC and the mobile phone. Since it uses Bluetooth, although it does function as a remote it has certain range limitations (a traditional infra-red remote has better range) and is also susceptible to interference, especially from Wi-Fi (which is definitely going to be on your computer). The other thing is that the software probably hasn’t been tested for compatibility with a wide range of mobile phones: there are some issues here with navigation etc. To some extent the navigation problems are also due to the limitations of the software itself, in that it only functions on the Windows that are on top and only a handful of applications (that need to be started before one can use the remote control). It is best suited for media applications such as controlling the Windows Media Player when watching a movie or managing a PowerPoint presentation.
It can control both Media Player and VLC . Very neat gadget!
Quite some time I was looking for something like this. No bugs, no problems at all. Thanks!
Works fine and it`s super cool, would recommend it!
This software installed a browser toolbar without notice and without permission, and changed the home page and made several modification to my wireless connection and the system settings. I had to make a system restore to retain my original settings
